I bought 500 g kodo millet pack cost 68 rupees and decided to make Rustic Unpolished Kodo Millet Pilaf with Carrots & Beans which is healthy and tasty

if you serve this for dinner just reheat and top up with ghee very less amount and serve hot goes great

✨ABOUT THE RECIPE:

▼INGREDIENTS:

Unpolished Kodo millet - 295 g

water - 900ml

carrot - 65 g

beans - 95 g

ginger - 3 g

garlic - 15 g

onion and tomato - 1 medium size

home made masala - 1 tbsp

salt - 1/2 tbsp

mint leaves some


▼PROCEDURE:

Unpolished Kodo millet recipe - a nutrient rich recipe

8 tbsp of oil heat in medium flame add cinnamon - 7 small stick and cloves - 4

crushed ginger - 3 g and crushed garlic - 15 g

add chopped 1 medium size onion

once onions becomes translucent add chopped carrot 65 g and beans - 95 g

add tomato 1 medium size cook for 5 min medium flame

add tomato 1 medium size cook for 5 min medium flame

add home made masala - 1 tbsp and salt - 9 g or half spoon

generally millets consume less salt

900 ml of water for 295 g of kodo millet (varagu)

add some mint leaves cook for 15 min on medium flame

take 295 g of unpolished kodo millet rinse in water many times until the water color becomes clear

after drain it and add into the boiling sauce

since it is unpolished millet no need to dry roast it which has low glycemic index good for health

Reduce the heat to low, cover the pan with a lid, and let it cook for 15 minutes

Stir occasionally to prevent sticking and avoid burning. Add a splash of water if it looks too dry because it consumes lot of water to cook the millet properly

turn off the flame and cover and leav in dum for 5 min after serve

serve with coconut chutney or pickles or salad

the recipe helps reduce inflammation and detoxify the body
