Coconut Poli: Traditional Flavors Wrapped in Sweetness |Coconut Poli Delight: A Sweet Tradition
To make the poli soft and fluffy soak the dough more than 2 hours and use freshly broken coconut pieces obtained from the shell
✨ABOUT THE RECIPE:
▼INGREDIENTS:
400g maida
350 g coconut grinded
320 g Jaggery
Ghee and oil as required
cardamom 10 pcs
▼PROCEDURE:
coconut poli is a great treat for festivals or just a sweet indulgence
all-purpose flour (maida) - 400 g and add pinch of salt to the 1 cup water depending upon the flour we took
Gradually add water and knead to form a soft, smooth dough
add 3 tbsp oil and knead the dough well
add one more tbsp of oil for the final touch and Cover the dough let it rest for at least 2 hrs
take 10 pcs of cardamom and coconut 350 g and grind well smoothly
use freshly broken coconut for enhancing taste
pour 320 g jaggery into the pan and heat in high flame and add little water
stirring continuously, until it melts
once melted let it boil for 5 min on medium flame after add grated coconut into it and mix well
mix well until gets combine for 3 minutes
coconut poli of this type is famous in mysore marriage festivals
when came into this state turn off flame and cool down completely
Divide the dough into small balls and do the same with the filling
roll out coconut filling into small balls
Roll out a dough ball into a small circle and Place a portion of the coconut filling in the center then fold the edges of the dough over the filling to seal it
press the dough gently into a thin circle, being careful not to let the filling spill out.
Place the rolled-out poli on the pan apply ghee on top and cook for 5 min by flipping frequently
Flip it over and cook until brown spots appear and Brush a little ghee or oil on both sides if desired change flame simmer while brown spots appeared
while placing the poli keep high flame after flipping brown spots appeared change simmer keep an eye on the flame always
Serve the coconut poli warm with a dollop of ghee or as is you can store it upto 3 days
