Exploring Moong Dal Halwa with Jaggery - A Rich and Creamy Indian Lentil Dessert

✨ABOUT THE RECIPE:

▼INGREDIENTS:

170 g yellow moong dal (split green gram)

200 g jaggery

40 g cashew

40 g almonds

5 cardamom

water 325 ml

ghee - 110 ml


▼PROCEDURE:

170 g moong dhal since we dry roast it no need to rinse

In a heavy-bottomed pan, dry roast the moong dal for 7 minutes on low heat. This step adds a nutty flavor to the halwa

turn off flame and stir in the warm heat itself for a minute which turns aromatic

it took 25 min to cool completely now add 5 cardamom and grind well finely

add 200 g jaggery and water 170 ml stir well until full jaggery dissolves completely for 5 min

once jaggery dissolves in medium flame turn off and keep aside

pour some ghee here i taken 110 ml ghee totally in that taken some for frying nuts

40 g cashewnuts and 40 g chopped almonds fry until turns golden brown

this dessert is great for knee pain as yellow moon dal (split green gram) is healthy

now add the grounded moong dal mixture and stir in medium flame after add jaggery syrup

stir constantly for 7 to 8 minutes until thickens

constant stirring is necessary so that it absorbs the syrup well add 160 ml water and mix well

add the remaining ghee to it and mix well it took almost 7 min to bring out this form

top up with fried nuts and mix well

Ghee is key to achieving the rich, authentic taste of Moong Dal Halwa. Don't skimp on it

The halwa thickens as it cools, so make sure to serve it while it’s still warm for the best experience
