BLACK EYED PEAS minimalistic INGREDIENTS (QUICK TIME) | SOUTH INDIAN STYLE

I AM SHARING LOBIA MASALA (BLACK EYED PEAS BRINJAL CURRY ) RECIPE WITH MINIMALISTIC INGREDIENTS. 30 + experience in cooking field I am sharing the concern for my subcribers who are beginners and bachelors. Lobia masala | Black eyed peas brinjal sauce curry | Black eyed peas and eggplant


Black eyed peas is cooked in pressure cooker and remove the water as it harms for health and drops only the black eyed peas into the masala gravy added with smoothly blended paste with brinjal, i added brinjal at centre because brinjal takes enormous time to cook and then mixed with masalas and tamarind water to it. i also mentioned accurate timings for the recipe so that it will be helpful for the upcomers and beginners who initialize to cook. for me it may not require to check the time and flame as

i have 30 + experience in cooking field i am sharing the concern for my subcribers who are beginners and bachelors. Anyway feel free to learn cooking by yourself.

BLACK EYED PEAS

✨ABOUT THE RECIPE:

▼INGREDIENTS:


Black eyed peas (washed) - 120 g

Onion - 3

Tomato - 3

Brinjal - 3

water - 800 ml ( 400ml for black eyed peas 400ml for gravy curry)

Homemade masala - 3 tsp

Salt - 1 tsp

cumin seeds - 1/4 tsp

Mustard seeds - 1/4 tsp

Vadagam or uttaram - 1 tsp

garlic cloves - 5

Oil required amount

tamarind water- 1 cup


▼PROCEDURE:

Add 400 ml water to the pressure cooker

Drop 120 g of black eye peas (washed)

keep in medium flame 3 whistles

Turn off flame and leave it to cool do not open suddenly as it may hurt us

pour oil 2 tbsp on medium flame

5 garlic cloves

add 2 onions medium size | Tomatoes - 1

saute nicely until rawness goes off

this process of sauting in oil makes gravy thick also can keep until dinner

turn off the flame take into the plate

after cooling blend it smoothly

this paste to be added at atlast hence keep aside

pour 3 tbsp oil on high flame

Mustard seeds - 1/4 spoon

Cumin seeds - 1/4 tsp

Vadagam or uttaram - 1 tsp

it turns aromatic

add chopped 1 meidum onions

add tomato - 1 and saute well

saute until cooked nicely

now change flame low and drop 3 brinjals chopped

brinjal will takes time to cook hence saute nicely

Homemade masala - 3 tsp

add water - 400 ml

salt - 1 tsp

change medium flame

It starts boiling now drop black eyed peas into it

cook on simmer for 15 minutes

Now drop blended paste to it

add some water 300 ml to mixer jar and pour left out paste to the curry

fresh curry and coriander leaves to be added

cook on medium or 15 minutes to melt the past into gravy

add 1 cup tamarind water as final touch

cook again on simmer for 12 minutes atlast

now ready to serve for meals
